Florals & Plants

Florals and plants are popular subjects for surface pattern designers. My florals are highly stylized, either very graphic, like the art deco flowers, or bordering on the abstract, like the “hastens the menses” pieces I have below.

Flowers. Inspired by the Wiener Werkstätte! Cream on blue.
I feel like maybe this shouldn't be a grid, but maybe a half-drop? I kind of like the relentless regularity of it now though.

Believe it or not, these are also inspired by the Wiener Werkstätte. But in the 70s.

These are some nordic deco daisies. Blue and gold.

Pretty princess deco roses. I've printed this large (36" repeat) and smaller (8" repeat). They're both good.
When I first started, I had this method of coloring in complicated natural shapes with squiggles. I really like the way it looks. Fall leaves on the pavement.
From a limited series called "hastens the menses." Plants you can eat or drink that will bring on your menses if you are late. Because we've returned to the 18th century. This one is pennyroyal.
